Pencuri Dibekuk Setelah Tampil di Acara X Factor

Seorang gadis pencuri mobil akhirnya dibekuk polisi setelah tampil dalam acara X Factor versi Inggris. Plaige Flaherty ditangkap setelah seorang saksi mengenalinya ketika ia ada di televisi.

Gadis berusia 19 tahun itu mencuri mobil di wilayah South Tyneside dua tahun yang lalu. Saat ia membawa kabur mobil curiannya, Flaherty sempat menabrak seorang pejalan kaki bernama Chris Brown.

Flaherty pun meninggalkan Brown setelah ia memberikan nama dan nomor telepon palsu kepada pria itu.

Namun pelarian Flaherty akhirnya berakhir saat dia mengikuti ajang pencarian bakat X Factor bersama bandnya. Brown yang menonton acara itu segera mengenali Flaherty dan menelepon polisi.

“Ia berusaha menelopon nomor yang diberikan oleh Flaherty, namun ternyata nomor itu palsu. Beberapa minggu kemudian ia melihat gadis itu dalam acara X Factor di televisi dan langsung menghubungi polisi,” ujar jaksa penuntut, Jeanne Smith, seperti dikutip The West, Rabu (6/3/2013).

Saat ini Flaherty sedang menjalani proses pengadilan, hakim dijadwalkan akan memutuskan hukuman untuk gadis itu pada April mendatang.
